The Hill was written in 2022 and released in 2023 with Chaos and the Calm. The song is about perseverance — about choosing to keep climbing, even when the summit is hidden in mist.
It’s that long, endless slope we all face when chasing our dreams. Step after step, breath after breath, the climb feels eternal. There’s a Japanese saying that speaks to this feeling: even when you cannot see the top of the hill, you keep climbing. It’s a quiet philosophy of endurance — to move forward with faith, even when the path ahead is uncertain, because the act of climbing itself is meaning.
Still, we go on. Because somewhere deep inside, the dream calls — not as a whisper, but as something sacred, inevitable. We keep moving, drawn toward a light we can barely see, yet somehow know is there.
