BYGONES
The first track was inspired by a long road trip across Europe — endless highways, changing weather, and that meditative rhythm of tires on asphalt. It’s a song about freedom, solitude, and the beauty of being in motion with no clear destination, just the open road ahead.
The second track came from something unexpected — a vintage space-age heater from the 1960s that I stumbled upon one day. Its design, a mix of futuristic optimism and nostalgic charm, sparked the idea for a tune that blends warm, retro tones with a sense of curiosity and invention — like a sonic artifact from another era.
The third piece was written at sunset near an old fortress. As swifts circled above the walls, their movement in the sky turned into melody and rhythm. The track carries that same fleeting feeling — a quiet moment suspended between light and night, movement and stillness.
The final track feels almost like a film score — a story of a girl, of connection and distance, and how relationships evolve over time. There are shifting harmonies, subtle dynamics, and an emotional arc that mirrors the complexity of love: from tenderness to nostalgia, from closeness to acceptance.
Each piece was recorded with a focus on tone and texture — layers of acoustic guitars, captured with natural ambience and minimal processing, to preserve their warmth and immediacy. The music is intimate yet cinematic, inviting the listener into a world of images, memories, and quiet discoveries.
