M D D W

M D D W was one of those songs where I really wanted to push myself to be different, yet still remain true to my R&B roots. It’s a two-part story that allowed me to explore two completely opposite characters in the game of love - something I’ve always enjoyed doing through my music.

The first half, My Darling, shows me in a softer light, a vulnerable, clingy lover yearning for reassurance, only to face the painful realization that those needs may never be met. From there, the song transitions into Don’t Wanna, where I step into a darker, more confident character - a woman reclaiming her power, knowing her worth, and refusing to settle for half-hearted love.

I love this record because it showcases not just my vocal range, but also my storytelling, being able to embody different emotions and perspectives within one song. Produced by Ifedapo, who also co-wrote My Darling, and engineered by Cizzle, the sound came together in a way that feels both intentional and true to my artistry.

M D D W is one of my favorite releases because it captures the duality of who I am as a person and an artist: soft and emotional, yet strong and self-assured.
