On Carrying Hate, I was responsible for the lyrics, vocal composition, and vocal performance, channeling the song’s raw aggression and emotional weight into a vocal delivery that feels both intense and cathartic. The track leans into a heavier, riff-driven doom/stoner metal sound, with sharp rhythmic shifts that allowed me to explore a more visceral side of my voice.
My approach was to embody the anger and release at the heart of the song: driving the verses with a gritty, forceful tone, then expanding into more melodic but equally urgent passages in the chorus. This dynamic contrast reinforces the song’s message about the destructive burden of resentment while keeping the performance engaging and immersive.
The result is a vocal style that feels powerful, unrestrained, and emotionally direct, balancing heaviness with expressiveness to complement the track’s aggressive character.
