politica mala
This is a collection of my songs with a political bent - reflections on war and the ever present seeking of control over others and its consequences.
Nigel Cuff provided the demo service for most of these songs - vocals, guitars, keyboards, percussion and mix/mastering - though Gugubruce Njobela provides his talents with voice/piano for "cold hard winter" and "who will bring the children home?" and voice/guitar for "of mice and men".
Marco Cremaschini plays Rhodes piano on "take me back". I play MIDI pan flute on "time and time again" and on "I heard Red Donley say", MIDI on "for Andrew, John, and Bartimaeus". I recorded the bird song for "I heard Red Donley say" and the rooster crow for "the Lord is near". Mariannah M. sings backup vocals and harmonies for "I heard Donley say" - a song that came to me in a dream inspired by "Cold Hard World" by Daniel Johnston.
The album artwork is by Kalleigh Klemetsrud.
