dizzy spells EP
Faerie's "dizzy spells" EP
New York-born artist Faerie released "dizzy spells" on February 24, 2023—her first EP since 2021's "2am." Featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie playlists.
Citing influences like Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, and HAIM—artists that filled her teenage, 2010s "Tumblr era"—"dizzy spells" encapsulates in five strong tracks years of young loving, sometimes healthy, sometimes not, and adolescent maturing.
"The past was catching up to me, and all I could do was reflect," Faerie said. "This EP gave me a chance to really experiment with my sound and dig into stories I've kept hidden in the back of my mind."
Produced by Matty Bedrosian, the EP takes Faerie's love for pop, sprinkles in folk and psychedelic influences, and creates something both airy and introspective. Her tracks sparkle at their peak and fade out quickly, leaving the listener ready for more.
First track "virgo sun" pulses back and forth between questions and stream-of-conscious answers, reminiscent of Lorde's "Ribs" or COIN's "Lately." "champagne tears" marked Faerie's first print publication feature.
Since releasing "k-town" in October 2022, "dizzy spells" has collected more than 21,000 streams and includes a sold-out EP release show at Visionary Art Gallery, NJ.
Described by Unclear Magazine as "futuristic and fun," Faerie fuses bedroom pop and dreamy indie music to craft her unique sound. Featured on American Songwriter's "Hot Indie Favorites" with press from EARMILK, The Luna Collective, and The Wild Honey Pie.
