vignettes
This album is a collection of twelve introspective ballads written between 2004 to 2022 - after which time I called upon Marco Cremaschini to be the musical foundation for the majority of these songs - employing his beautiful piano work to support the vocal talents of a variety of female and male vocalists from here on airgigs. Other artists contributed bass, percussion, saxophone, and violin. Belobrk Aleksander did the mix/mastering.
The album artwork documents for each song the singers and musicians commissioned.
The lyrics for "depression (who you really are)" are by my son, Benjamin John Taylor, written as a tribute to his mother who comforted him through a most difficult time.
The song, "give me Jesus", is a Traditional Christian Spiritual for which I rearranged the structure and added words to.
Many thanks to everyone who helped me out with this album - and many thoughts and prayers for all those involved in the remembrances the songs call to mind.
blessings always
