Impros and Films
This debut album, released by Temps Records, is inspired by the emotional depth and narrative power of film soundtracks. The repertoire brings together our own reinterpretations of iconic themes — including music associated with Clint Eastwood’s films and the timeless Pinocchio melody — alongside moments of open improvisation that add freshness, spontaneity, and a personal contemporary voice to these cinematic references.
The project is co-led with drummer Jordi Gardeñas, whose creative approach and sensitivity were essential in shaping the sound and direction of the album. We were joined by three outstanding musicians from the Catalan jazz scene: Martí Serra on tenor saxophone, Benet Palet on trumpet, and Sergi Sirvent on piano. Their strong musical identities, expressive playing, and intuitive sense of interaction enriched every track and helped transform each piece into something unique.
In addition to the soundtrack-inspired repertoire, the album also includes one of my own compositions, offering a more intimate look into my writing and musical language.
Overall, this record reflects a meeting point between cinematic music and improvisation — a space where melody, atmosphere, and collective creativity come together to create a cohesive and heartfelt musical journey.
