keyboard player, Hammond organ, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet etc. for $70
My name is John and I live in Nashville, TN. I love funk, jazz, soul, all the Laurel canyon stuff (Carole king, James Taylor etc) Steely Dan is my favorite, Vulfpeck is also great. so is Norah Jones, Amos Lee, Larry Goldings, Adam Levy, John Mayer, Emily King etc. you get the idea.
I studied Jazz percussion and audio engineering in school and worked at a studio for about 10 years doing all sorts of things from tech work to engineering and playing on records. I pretty much just play keys now, I spent most of my twenties trying to figure out what I wanted to do with music and after trying on many differents hats and instruments I landed on keyboards.
I absolutely love playing and recording with vintage keyboards! I really enjoy playing Hammond organ on just about anything. I have a C3 and leslie 122. a couple of Wurlitzer electric pianos, a Rhodes suitcase 88, a Moog model D. I have access the Clavinets and some other old keys (Yamaha CP-70 and acoustic pianos)
being a percussionist, I like to think of keyboards as a percussion instrument and I play pretty funky with a lot of focus on groove and rhythm. I record a lot at home these days but will always love being in a room with other musicians, it's simply the best when everybody is together.
I have a very open mind about music and can find something I like in just about any style. I would love to record on your song and colabriate. I will always try to play on anything but I'm never afraid to say that I may not be the right guy for the job. I play very much in the style of all the influences listed above so if you like those musicians as well, then I'll probably be a good match.
I have played on quite a few demos over the years but if you'd like to hear a few records I've played on listen to Ernie Halter "Catbird Soul" and Salar Rajabnik "Black and White World"
