Sólo Imaginación (Album) | Holy Piby
Sólo Imaginación is the third studio album by Argentine reggae band Holy Piby, released in 2011. The album features 13 original songs and blends reggae with elements of jazz, funk, soul, folk and rock. It includes collaborations with internationally recognized artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Anthony B, Groundation, Sidney Mills of Steel Pulse, Rafael Rodríguez Morales of SOJA, and musicians from Ben Harper’s band.
One of the album’s highlights is “She Is My Baby,” a lovers rock-inspired reggae track featuring legendary Jamaican singer Gregory Isaacs. The recording was made in Argentina and became one of Isaacs’ final studio collaborations. The album was recorded and mixed at Estudios Afro in Lanús, Buenos Aires, with additional recordings made in Jamaica, the United States, Brazil and Puerto Rico. Mastering was completed at Lion & Fox Studios in the United States.
My contribution: I was part of the album’s production team and recorded drums throughout the entire record. I contributed to the arrangements, rhythmic foundation and overall musical direction, while performing on the drum tracks across the album.
