Me Amaste Primero - Coalo Zamorano

Me Amaste Primero - Coalo Zamorano

“Me Amaste Primero” is an original worship song that I wrote and composed, and one of the most meaningful collaborations I’ve had the opportunity to be part of. I also performed the lead vocals alongside Coalo Zamorano, whose participation brought a very special voice and presence to the recording.

The song was born from a simple but foundational truth of the Christian faith: our love for Jesus is a response to the love He first showed us. Lyrically, the song moves through themes of God’s eternal and unconditional love, the freedom found through the cross, and the assurance that nothing can separate us from His perfect love.

As the songwriter and composer, I wanted the verses to feel personal and reflective while building toward a chorus that could be sung as a direct declaration to Jesus. The repeated line “Jesús, Tú me amaste primero a mí” became the central idea of the song—the point everything else returns to.

One of the defining moments of the project was having Coalo Zamorano join me on lead vocals. Sharing the song with Coalo gave the recording another level of depth and significance for me. His voice and interpretation brought a distinct character to the performance, and the interaction between our two voices helped turn the song from a personal declaration into something that felt larger and more communal.

The recording was produced by Josué Pineda, who developed a fresh sound that blends retro and modern influences through atmospheric synthesizers, driving rhythms, and contemporary pop production. His production gave the song energy and movement while leaving room for the lyric and vocal performances to remain at the center.

Me Amaste Primero is especially representative of another side of my musical work beyond production and mixing: songwriting, composition, and performance. From writing the melody and lyrics to ultimately singing the finished song alongside Coalo Zamorano, this project remains an important part of my work as a musician and worship leader.
