Alles fühlt sich an wie Liebe

Alles fühlt sich an wie Liebe

“Alles fühlt sich an wie Liebe” (“Everything Feels Like Love”) is an original German-language song written for my independent music project XS 0198.

The song is intentionally double-layered. On the surface, it can easily be interpreted as a euphoric love song — but underneath, the lyrics describe the heightened emotional perception associated with an MDMA state: intense closeness, warmth, euphoria, sensory overload and the temporary feeling that everything and everyone around you is somehow connected by love.

That ambiguity was central to the writing process. I wanted the lyrics to work without explicitly explaining their real context. Depending on the listener’s perspective, the same lines can describe falling in love, losing yourself in a night out, or experiencing an artificially intensified sense of emotional connection.

The central phrase, “Alles fühlt sich an wie Liebe,” became the lyrical anchor for the entire song. It is deliberately simple, conversational and immediately understandable, while its meaning changes once the second layer of the song becomes apparent.

This track represents an important part of my songwriting style: taking familiar, everyday German phrases and giving them an additional emotional or conceptual meaning. Melancholy, vulnerability and psychological states often meet highly danceable electronic production in my writing.

I wrote the lyrics, concept and song structure with a strong focus on natural German phrasing, rhythm, repetition and a hook that can stand on its own — while leaving enough ambiguity for listeners to find their own story inside the song.
