YekaPharoah, independent musician based in Saint-Girons (France), has carved his own path from percussion to saxophone and bass — via clarinet, piano, drums, and guitar. A self-taught journey shaped by three years at the American School of Paris, where American jazz met the rhythms of his roots.
His universe ? Afro-jazz, Caribbean grooves, world fusion, and odd meters. Music that breathes West Africa, Maloya, Cuban syncopation, and New York improvisation.

Alto & soprano saxophones — airy melodic lines, tipping the hat to Parker, Coltrane, Brecker, James Carter
Fretted & fretless bass — deep groove, organic glissando, in the lineage of Victor Wooten, Richard Bona, Hadrien Feraud, Esperanza Spalding
Percussion (djembé, clave, shaker egg, shamanic drum) — tribal pulses, organic textures
Scat vocals — voice as instrument, pure improvisation
