Ever since I watched Amanda Palmer's TED Talk The Art of Asking in 2013, it became a dream of mine to crowdfund an album. As an introverted teenager who had never properly recorded a song—beyond some fiddling with GarageBand on my iPad—it seemed almost fantastical that people could care so much about you and your music that they'd help fund your art and passion.

In 2021, I finally found the courage to try, and I knew that if I did it, I would do it right. I spent a year organizing everything: compiling email lists of funding agencies, preparing a campaign with self-made songs and music videos, rewriting statements over and over, developing themes, making demos, and reaching out to artists I wanted involved. I was determined to make this happen.

Then came another year of promotion—gigging, messaging, posting, and spreading the word. And on April 1st, 2023, it was no joke—I reached my goal (and then some!), and recording began just days later.

After a long process of organizing musicians, underestimating costs, and balancing it all with the arrival of my producer’s baby, Lyla, the finish line finally came into view. On January 7th, 2025, we completed the album. I’m incredibly proud of this work and of everyone who helped bring it to life. I have no regrets—this album is exactly what I wanted it to be. A milestone of my life, my songwriting, and, most importantly, proof that I could build something real through the support of friends and fans—something I only dreamed of 12 years ago.
