Dona ferida

The song "Dona Ferida" ("Wounded Woman" in Catalan) was written as a feminist anthem dedicated to women who have suffered pain, abuse, discrimination, or emotional wounds throughout their lives.
The song was created to encourage women to break their silence and speak openly about what they have endured. Women have historically carried accumulated injustices and, many still struggle with low self-esteem because of social mistreatment and sexism. This song is an invitation to "verbalize our problems" through art in a way that is both joyful and healing.
Rather than presenting suffering in a dark or mournful way, I chose a lively rumba rhythm. My intention was to transform pain into strength and solidarity, making the song feel empowering rather than despairing.
The song also fits into the broader themes of Amor i ràbia, my debut solo album that balances love songs with songs about social justice and feminist struggle.
"Dona Ferida" was especially well received for its lyrics and later received an award for Best Catalan Lyrics of 2021.
