The Incantus (Self Titled)

The debut album from The Incantus was shaped by themes of grief, ancestry, Celtic paganism and the stark beauty of the southern land. Many of the songs began as raw sketches exploring foreboding portents, storm and strife, and visions drawn from the veil — ideas that gradually evolved into long‑form, atmospheric compositions. The lyrical approach blends personal mythology with historical and spiritual motifs, creating a narrative world that feels both ancient and deeply human.

The album was performed by a dedicated five‑piece lineup of established Australian metal musicians:
● Nat Harmer – guitars
● Sam O’Connell – guitars
● Kris Corvus – vocals
● Darcy Mulcahy – drums
● Luke Clarke – bass

The creative process was highly intentional and arrangement‑driven. Each track went through multiple structural drafts, refining pacing, harmonic movement and emotional contour. Guitars were layered to create shifting textures, drums were performed with an organic, grounded feel, and vocals were delivered with narrative weight to match the album’s themes.

Produced independently under Naticus Music, the album was mixed and mastered by EOL Studios in Richmond, VIC. Artwork was created by Ellie Simone Artistry, with photography by Nicholas Woodhouse Photography.

This debut offering embodies the band’s credo — “Will Forth From Nothing” — capturing stories of perseverance and identity in their rawest form, and establishing The Incantus as a distinct voice in doomed melodic death metal.
