When I was in the studio with Christian Deussen working on “Jetzt erst recht”, the vision from the very beginning was clear: we wanted to capture that unmistakable Schlager feeling — emotional, uplifting, and instantly connecting — but with a modern, radio-ready production.
The song lives right at the heart of contemporary Schlager. It combines warm, melodic instrumentation with a driving rhythm that gives it both energy and emotional depth. We focused on creating a sound that feels nostalgic and familiar, while still fresh enough to stand alongside current releases in the genre.
Lyrically, “Jetzt erst recht” is all about living in the moment. It reflects on how quickly life can pass by and encourages the listener to stop waiting, let go of doubts, and fully embrace the present. There’s a strong sense of determination and positivity in the message — a kind of “now more than ever” mindset that pushes you to move forward and make the most of every second.
In the studio, a big part of the process was capturing that emotional authenticity in Christian’s vocal performance. We worked closely on phrasing and dynamics to make sure every line carries that sense of urgency and sincerity. The production supports this by gradually building intensity, giving the chorus that uplifting, almost anthemic feel that Schlager thrives on.
For me as a producer, this track is a great example of what Schlager can be today: heartfelt, relatable, and powerful — a song that reminds you not to wait, but to live now.
