Take A Chance

Take A Chance

Take A Chance was written during a season of my life where love felt both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.

In the early days of my relationship with my wife, Alex, I was standing at that familiar crossroads, the moment where you can either protect yourself with doubt, or step forward with belief. I didn’t have certainty. What I had was trust, and that choice mattered.

This song became a way for me to capture that feeling: the quiet courage it takes to believe in something before it feels guaranteed. It’s about choosing love not because it’s easy, but because it’s worth the risk.

Years later, as a husband and father, the meaning of this song has only deepened. Take A Chance now feels like a snapshot of who I was becoming, someone willing to lead with faith, even when the outcome wasn’t yet clear.

From the very beginning, Take A Chance was built around groove and space.

I wanted the verses to feel intimate and grounded, letting the story breathe without urgency. The chorus opens things up emotionally and sonically, as a reflection of what it feels like to lean into belief rather than hesitation.

Throughout the song, the production stays intentionally vocal-forward. Every layer exists to support the lyric, not compete with it. My goal was to create a soundscape that feels warm, honest, and human, so that serves the story as much as the melody.

Performed by Boston based, award-winning, contemporary a cappella group, Ball in the House.
