Prog Metal Example
"revision," being comprised of just four tracks, took a lot out of me to put together. I started working on it in early 2023 which was when i decided to pick up the guitar again after a 2+ year hiatus. Brimming with unrealized ideas, "upward spiral" was written in less than three weeks. After that, I immediately started working on "colorblind." Concurrently, I had also begun fleshing out concepts for "gorlock". The former took me about 4 months to finish and right after I felt I had hit a bit of ceiling in terms of creativity so I took a break from the EP altogether to work on other projects. Closer to February of 2024, the idea for "reanimate" came to me and after about a month, I had more or less finished it. Not long after, I was also able to finish "gorlock."
By around April of that year, everything was more or less written but I felt the production/mix quality was severely lacking. In late 2025, However, I upgraded to the most recent version of Ableton, my DAW of choice. Doing so fed me with just the inspiration, but the instinctive need to finalize everything now that I had far superior tools to attain a standard of quality worth showcasing.. And so, I tied up all loose ends and wrapped it all up.
I'm super proud of this work. I'm sure you'll dig it too!
