Songwriter & Composer needed for Animated Film Score

Joy is an independent 3D animated short film based on a true story of the unlikely friendship between a sad and bitter old man and his neighbor, a sickly seven year old girl.

Crafted from the studio's illustrated story, Joy tells the story of Charles Robinson and his lonely existence after the death of his wife. After catching his young neighbor Isabella plucking a flower from his garden, he reacts swiftly and cruelly. But, after witnessing the break down ... of her parent's marriage, and her mother's plight in trying to keep the two afloat in spite of recent cancer diagnosis, Robinson is moved to action. When Isabella is left sitting alone at her own birthday party, Robinson steps in with a magical act of kindness that changes both of their lives forever.

Inspired by the works of Disney and Pixar, Joy is an introspective tale of regret and loss, as well as a celebration of human kindness in times of tragedy.

We are looking for a talented songwriter and pianist to write a simple score for this animated short of 8-12 minutes. We have envisioned a score similar to some of animation's early films, so a background in jazz is a plus! Our development team will provide direction and samples, and communicate along the way to help this project realize its greatest potential. Time and budget are flexible as needed.
