Female Lead Vocalist (Spanish) | 1970s Original Latin Soul/Rock Ballad | Remote | $300

I'm David Christopher Loya, an award winning writer, director and producer with over two decades in film and television. Todavía Te Veo is an original music demo for Esperanza, my independent music drama series about the Cabreras, a Mexican American family rock band in East Los Angeles in 1973. The Esperanza pilot screenplay has received more than 40 industry awards and accolades.

THE ROLE: the demo singing voice of Michelle Cabrera, the band's 17 year ol ... d songwriter and keyboardist: sharp, guarded, and far more tender than she lets anyone see. Singers must be 18 or older; I'm casting a youthful sound for this music demo.

WHAT I'M LISTENING FOR

• A voice that sounds like a young Mexican American woman from East LA, with Latin American Spanish pronunciation (seseo, no Castilian "th")

• A youthful warm alto with a soprano lift. Think the spirit of Linda Ronstadt, the undertow of a young Karen Carpenter, the ease of Lani Hall, in your own voice.

• Emotional honesty, reliable pitch and breath support through a final chorus that modulates up a half step (F to G♭).

THE SONG: a Latin soul/rock ballad sung entirely in Spanish. My original arrangement and production are locked. Full prelim mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXZxeCvt52M
The vocals are AI generated placeholders showing the phrasing I'm after; I'm looking for the human voice to replace them.

THE JOB (REMOTE): a dry lead vocal for the full song, plus three-part harmony backing vocals on every backing section, with one round of revisions.

You supply a quality mic and a quiet treated space, and deliver unprocessed WAV files, 48 kHz / 24 bit.

COMPENSATION: $300 flat. Esperanza is self funded, so the budget is fixed. Non union. Credit and terms in writing before work begins.

TO APPLY: Send a link to your AirGigs profile with at least two samples of your own lead vocals, ideally soaring ballads, and in Spanish if you have them (you must be able to speak Spanish), plus a line about your recording setup. Samples that show the top of your range help most. I will listen to every submission and will contact you if I feel your voice is a fit for the song. Absolutely no AI vocals will be considered.

DEADLINE: 11:59 PM Pacific, Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

If your voice is timeless enough to belong in a 1973 East LA rock band, I'd love to hear it.
