Song Arrangement and Production
I’m looking for someone to do a full band salsa arrangement for a song I’ve written. I did a CD a year or so ago which had one salsa song and a bachata song produced by a guy and his band I found here on Airgigs – Leonardo Garcia y Son Horizonte. That was during the pandemic and he is now too busy playing live to produce this new song. My idea is to add this song “Free of the Blues” to the CD, so I would like it to be at a similar level of ... musicianship and production.
Here are two of my songs done by Leo
Just Like This
Love You Enough
I lived in Mexico for 4 years and I do speak Spanish but this song has lyrics in English. I’m from California and have lived in Japan for 30 years. I have danced salsa and bachata 3-4 times a week for close to 10 years so am pretty familiar with these genre. With Salsa I prefer salsa moderna and pop salsa to timba. I feel like the arrangements are more interesting than timba arrangements. More fun to listen to, more fun to dance to. Here are two examples of songs I recently like a lot.
Perdi mi Oportunidad
Horns are important, I love piano and an interesting bass line. I want a song that is music forward and interesting musically, not just background for my vocals. I’m attaching an mp3 demo of my song “Free of the Blues” and a lyric/chord sheet. But it needs a salsa arrangement with interesting breaks, a montuno section etc. I originally wrote this song in a different key but heard this song by Quantic – “Echete pa’lla” and it inspired me to re write the song. I’m including it here as a reference track as I like the saxophone work in this and the dub/chacha groove.
I do want a salsa song that can be danced to in a club, so the demo is done at 160 bpm. It’s a stretch for me to sing it that fast but I think 160 is necessary if one wants to dance to it.
So what do you think? Are you interested in producing this song?
