Looking for soprano/tenor saxophone AND flute player
to record improvisational solos over psychedelic jazz instrumentals, as well as a few pre-written “heads” - MUST be able to learn the heads by ear!

Ok I apologize about the length of this, but PLEASE make sure you read & understand the entire ad before sending me any offers! Heres the deal - I have 7 total tracks that I need sax & flute on (4 tracks soprano, 2 tenor, 1 flute). Each will have a ... roughly 2-3 minute long (give or take) improvisational solo (some also have intros & outros about a minute or so long), & 5 of the 7 tracks have already pre-written “heads” that youd need to learn by ear (they are extremely simple). For these pre-written heads, theres already a guitar recorded playing the EXACT notes youd need to mirror, so you will simply play along, & in sync, with what the guitar melody is playing

For the solos, Ill need at least 3 different takes so that I can have the option of splicing together the best parts of all 3 if I feel the need. For any intros/outros, Ill just need 2 takes. For the heads, as long as they are exactly what the guitar is doing, Im good with just a single take. Each tune Ill send over an mp3 that you can import into your DAW, record over, & then send the full length stems of each take back to me in aif/wav format (dry as a bone with no effects & etc) so that I can import back into my original project. Again, Im looking for the stems for each take so they need to be the exact same length of the track I sent you so that I can simply drag them to the beginning of the original project & the syncing will be perfect (Im sure most of you reading this already know how to do this but I just wanted to be clear)

As far as the music itself goes, this is kind of a psychedelic jazz kinda thing. “Dark” & groovy, so youre playing style needs to be technically proficient but its mostly about playing soulfully & psychedelic & fitting the mood of each tune

Lastly, Im extremely picky about the tone of the soprano sax (tenor not so much) so this will be the ultimate deal maker or breaker for me. Id appreciate if whoevers interested in this project would be able to record & send over a short 30 second clip of them playing soprano over one of the actual tracks we will be recording before I can hire you. Just so I can get a better sense of your tone than just a random sample

Im offering $500 flat rate for all 7 completed tunes (heads, & the multiple takes of solos/intros/outros). I understand the money for this project isnt going to pay your rent but please understand these albums sell next to nothing & make me NO profit. I record music because I love it, even at a financial loss for me
