Im a Lyics Writer i dont sing them so i need help

My name is Chris, and I’m a passionate lyricist currently working with a limited budget due to being on disability. I’m still learning how the full music production process works—while I may not know all the technical terms, I definitely know what I like when I hear it.

I focus mainly on writing heartfelt, LGBTQ+ pride-themed lyrics. I’m especially drawn to emotional and expressive music—songs like “Past Lives” by BØRNS ... are a big inspiration for me. I write lyrics, but I don’t sing or produce, and I’m not always sure which genre or sound best fits a particular song. That’s why I’m looking to collaborate with someone who can help bring my vision to life—ideally a male vocalist and/or producer who can help shape the sound and style.

While I could use AI to generate a track, it wouldn’t feel genuine to me—and if it’s not real, I don’t believe it will truly connect with listeners or benefit either of us creatively. My goal is to create something honest, emotional, and potentially even a hit.

I already have a few songs written that I believe have strong potential, but I’m not sure which one is the best to lead with. I’d appreciate your input and support in choosing the right direction.

One important question I have: do I need to copyright the lyrics before we begin working together, or is that something we can handle together as part of the process?

Ultimately, if the right collaboration forms and the project takes off, I would love to take it all the way—into a fully produced track, and even a professional music video if the opportunity arises.
