Must be available to work at least two days a week:

Monday to Friday 4pm to 8pm

Two hours weekly rehearsal TBD

+Special Events on weekends.

Positions available for performing with string ensemble, part time teachers and substitutes.

Key Responsibilities of a Violin and Cello Teacher:

Instruction:
Teaching students how to hold the instrument and bow, proper fingering, bowing techniques, and musical interpretation.

Curriculum Design:
Implementing lesson plans tailored to group and individual student needs and goals.

Feedback and Guidance:
Providing constructive criticism and encouragement to help students improve their skills and achieve their goals.

Music Theory and Notation:
Teaching students the basics of music theory, including reading music notation, understanding musical concepts, and learning about different musical styles as developed in class lesson plans.

Performance Preparation:
Helping students prepare for the Semiannual Showcase performances.

Adaptation of Teaching Methods:
Adjusting teaching approach based on class levels.

Building Relationships:
Fostering a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage student growth and motivation.

Additional Skills and Knowledge:
-Proficiency in classical and contemporary violin/cello styles
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to effectively demonstrate and teach techniques.
-Knowledge of different teaching methods, such as the Suzuki method.
-Understanding of music history and cultural context.
