Hi, I'm John! Here's some things you'll need to know about me...

- I'm a full-time, professional studio and live musician - I've worked across the industry as a songwriter, performer, producer, session musician, mix engineer, mastering engineer, arranger and educator, so I understand what it takes to make great records.
- My producing career began age 5 when I was given a cassette recorder and a cheap, nasty microphone - I’ve been making records ever since.
- More recently, I've written and produced music that has been played on stations such as BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, and appeared on BBC and Channel 4 (national TV) as a session musician.
- I've toured endlessly across Europe and the US, playing everything from arenas to dive bars.
- I'm comfortable and experienced in all styles, and I love a challenge!
- I graduated first in my year at Newcastle University's prestigious International Centre for Music Studies, specialising in performance (bass and guitar) and composition.
- I play bass guitar, double bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar and drums to a post-university standard, and am comfortable on a variety of other instruments (mandolin, violin, banjo, keyboards).
- I have a versatile and powerful project studio of my own, but also have access to larger production facilities for more ambitious projects.
- I'm happy working by ear, reading your parts, re-recording scratch parts, or coming up with something totally new - and everything in between...
