I own a successful music retail business that I started 1994 and have been performing and recording sax and flute for decades. I took collegiate level sax and flute lessons from LA session musician, Stan Seckler, Director of the most winning band at the Hollywood Bowl Battle of the Bands. I also played lead alto sax in his band. I studied music and business at Long Beach State University.
I have performed in the LA area, San Diego, Northern Michigan and Washington DC at hundreds of venues including the LA Coliseum, the Crystal Cathedral and was chosen by Michigan's Governor to perform in Washington DC with a band.
I have a melodic style that is great for a variety of genres from pop, rock, praise and worship, easy listening, commercials and more. I have worked extensively with Pro Tools in my home studio, even recording complete albums for artists. I am also a songwriter so I have a good sense of what makes a great finished project.
The Music Director of the American Music Awards, Edgar Struble, wrote to me about one of my original songs, "Great feel, great use of the sax, lyrics are way better than previous efforts. You may have a shot at placing this one. … Keep going, Chris..."
Bill Champlin from the band Chicago wrote me, “Nice tune....Well written. Be good, Bill”.
