Thomas Gunther is a professional pianist/keyboarder, music creator/producer/composer/arranger/orchestrator and music educator. He specializes in jazz and other contemporary music genres and styles.
Born and raised in Germany, Thomas moved to Chicago shortly after receiving his Master’s Degree in teaching and performing jazz and popular music from the State University for the Performing Arts, Stuttgart/Germany.
Thomas began his life and career in Chicago by studying sound engineering. Soon after living in Chicago he became the pianist for the acclaimed Chicago Jazz Ensemble, led by composer/arranger William Russo (Composer/Music Director of the Stan Kenton Orchestra). This opened many doors for him, leading the way to becoming an integrated part of the Chicago music scene, where he still creates music today.
Throughout his career he performed and recording with world renown musicians in the US and abroad.
His passion is performing and composing his own music, as well as arranging and producing other people's works.
